Dean Cross explores the periphery hierarchy in his latest exhibition
31 Jul 2021
Dean Cross talks about his creative ambition and the links between his own experiences in his solo exhibition Icarus, my Son, in an interview with Art Guide Australia.
This exhibition showcases four distinct works: a video piece, a large-scale photographic canvas and two wall sculptures. Cross explains his early methodologies of wanting to work with the exhibition space as a psychological space. When the works are put together, they form like a tapestry, each piece operating together to form a whole.
“Nothing needs to be the way it is, everything can change.” – Dean Cross
Icarus, my Son is currently on view at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery until 28 August.
